We (and the animals and plants) can’t wait to see you! We value the health and safety of our guests, staff, and animals. Because of this, we have made modifications to the Desert Museum experience following public guidance and health recommendations.

Know Before You Go

To minimize contact, we encourage you to download a Museum map before you visit.

Masks are required to enter and must be worn any time social distancing can not be maintained, and at all times in indoor areas.

|
All guests, including members, must reserve tickets in advance. We are not accepting in-person payments (including cash at the ticket windows) at this time.

|
Maintain social distance of 6 feet between other guests not in your party.

- If you or a member of your party are feeling unwell, please visit us another time. We look forward to having you another day!

- Be aware of others’ space and maintain a 6-foot distance between you and other parties.
- Please wash your hands frequently.
- Refrain from knocking on, tapping, or touching exhibit windows.
Changes & Closures
During your visit, you will have access to outdoor exhibits. Certain indoor features will be closed, while others will be modified.
- Select indoor areas will be closed, including Packrat Playhouse, the Cave, and the Warden Oasis Theater.
- Animal shows and interpretive talks are temporarily discontinued.
- Stingray Touch will be open for viewing only (free).
- Multiple exhibits, including the Hummingbird Aviary and Cat Canyon, will be open with one-way foot traffic.
- The Ironwood Terraces Restaurant and Phoebe’s Café will be open daily with modifications.
- The Mountain House Gift Shop and Ironwood Shop will be open daily with modifications.
